Here are some comments on the current presidential campaigns; I tend to believe we Americans do need to 'come together' in this time of threat from sources. However, I don't agree that 3rd parties should be construed as being the same threat. My feeling now is that the political world, Democrats & Republicans, are typically using the moment as prescribed by election law to perform for the voting public. The voting booth on election day is their applause meter. And they have a cult like following dedicated to a fault. Iowa gets nowhere near the publicity that comes with that state's party primaries. And it's 1 of 50 states! New Hampshire is as well, 1 of 50 states. The scent of tradition is in the air. In no way should either or any state primary vouch that it speaks for me. The political world takes on the image of the roving minstrel and/or travelling medicine man show. You could look at the issue or issues you are most concerned about and cast your vote for the candidate who is closest in agreement with you. Please realize that 'Elections' is one of the longest running performances. It has 2 actors from 2 acting groups. A 3rd actor from a 3rd acting group is frowned upon. The spotlight almost never shines on them. This play is reserved for 2 performing groups and in the final performance the 2 who represent their group. So, I guess it has come to my attention that it can't be early enough to see a more important aspect of this and act on it by looking very seriously at other minor parties and their candidates. Not only to shake the entrenched status quo but because the 3rd party door needs pushing to open it. The 2 parties have been pushing quite well against it with some help from wherever they can find it. Get used to seeing no appreciable results. It takes time. At the national level it doesn't happen fast. At the local level it is more likely to show. So, please look everyone over and consider 3rd party condidates. And certainly don't be ashamed but proud if you should cast a vote for a 3rd party. This country cannot and should not intimidate anyone from voting for the candidate of their choice.
Thank you,
